There’s nothing more human than creating something new. It’s one of the big things that sets us apart from other species. That’s why I consider machines as part of our humanity. We created them and we are the only ones capable of bringing them to life. What I love about them so much is that there’s no such thing as a good or bad machine. It’s up to us to use them as fearful weapons or as tools to make something meaningful. I like to just sit down in my studio and start a conversation by playing around with their knobs and faders. Rather than just getting sounds out of them, I like to think I’m helping them find their own tones and colors. Their own voice. And when they start talking back to me, when I feel they’re trully alive, that’s when I know I just made a song.
