Macedonian-Swedish clarinetist Blagoj Lamnjov ( Blago J ) pushes the boundaries of the clarinet, blending macedonian folk music with the sensibility of the western classical clarinet sound. Influenced by both musical genres, Blagoj’s music style delivers a full-of-emotions concert experience, a closer look at the clarinet as an instrument, as well as a more familiar image of the Balkan and Macedonia, creating a bridge between the old and the modern world. - Blagoj is a classically trained clarinetist in Sweden, the United States and his native Macedonia. By far he has performed in half of Europe, China, Japan, the USA and Canada. Based in Malmö, Sweden, he has worked for major institutions such as the Malmö Opera House, Stockholm City Theater, Lund’s University, Gothenburg University, Cirkus Cirkör, Helsingborg Symphony Orchestra. Blagoj holds Bachelor’s degree in classical music performance from the Lund’s University - Malmö Academy of Music and a Performance Diploma from the Chicago College of Performing Arts - Roosevelt University. He studied one year at DePaul University in Chicago and one year at Michigan State University.
