Born and raised in the DMV, Phillip "ThaFeels" Smith has always had a powerful love for music that told stories, revealed emotions, and engage people of all walks of life. Growing up in Prince Georges County, Phillip began writing poetry and songs at the age of 14 to help strengthen his creative and artistic mindset and outlook on life. "I know there is more to life, I just know it" was one of his first poems he wrote that turned into his first song ever. "Being from Prince George's County, Maryland you have to have two of two things: You're own distinction from every other artist; and tough skin. Not everyone is going to love and support you and half the time you are better than the next artist but it won't matter because of preference and favoritism to certain types of music from the DMV area." When he turned 19, ThaFeels lost his older sister to a devastating case of cancer. He then vowed to take his music serious and actually pursue his music dream so that people who went through similar things in life would never feel alone. Fast forward 6 years later and he is finally on the road to success, whether he is all alone, with a team, or with only God himself, ThaFeels has made a vow to change the dynamic of the music game by staying his witty, unorthodox, transparent, self; There isn't a genre or music type that ThaFeels can't create.
