Displaying artistic qualities at a young age, Jacyn Joseph developed a natural talent for drawing and would spend the bulk of his time with his face buried in a sketch book, doodling pictures of movie characters, his favorite cartoons, and whatever came to mind. Being raised in Queens, NY, he was exposed to Hip Hop where he became fascinated with the sounds and rhythms of this new type of music. One of the first Hip Hop songs he heard that drew his curiosity was “Slam” by Onyx, from there he was hooked. Relocating to Long Island at the age of 10, he started to write his own lyrics as he felt he did not fit in with his classmates; he needed a new outlet as drawing did not allow him to release his emotions. Writing lyrics helped fill the void of being homesick until he assimilated into his new life. In his teens, Jacyn started enrolling in talent shows where he was awarded best in show and most original, prompting him to look for a producer that could create original beats for him to write to and record. Luckily he linked up with Nicky Wattz, a producer from Uniondale, NY, and now best friend for over a decade. Nicky’s unique sound married well with Jacyn’s lyrics and style where they performed at many events across Long Island, New York City, and Philadelphia. Taking a short break to focus on family and other business ventures, Jacyn Joseph is back in the studio and working on releasing new and previously unreleased material.
