Fang AK is a project formed by Michal Chelminacki, a Sopot-based producer, composer and sound designer. His wide musical interests include hip-hop, jazz, folk, electronic, classical and film music, which he filters through his own mind and ideas to create minimalistic, disturbing soundscapes and ambient backgrounds. His view of music changed radically when he discovered hip-hop and sampling. From that moment, M.Ch. started to collect his diverse and unique range of vinyl records, from opera to jungle, all of which may be used in his productions. The start of collaboration with Ram Tam Tam studio in Sopot, Poland, became another turning point in his artistic career. This experience encouraged him to focus on the hardware side of production and recording techniques, allowing him to further diversify his experimentation with sound. Since then, he has been developing his talent and has started to publish his work in a variety of formats. Some of the recordings needed over 12 years to be published, a lot of them still await their moment. ‘Music has to mature’ he says.
