Jamaican born ‘Stacy Blaze’ was strongly influenced by the music of reggae artists such as the great Bob Marley, Buju Banton, Vibes Cartel and a wide spectrum of other artists. The decision to become a rap artist, however, was born out of the major musical influences of Jamaican Reggae artists who were able to ‘cross-over’ and fuse authentic reggae beats with rap music; a few examples being artists such as Sean Paul and Shaggy. They were able to merge reggae and rap music while simultaneously maintaining the authentic and distinctive core of the different genres. Blaze has always been an artist, and at an early age, growing up on the island of Jamaica, she was always performing at various functions at school, church and in front of family and friends. She always wanted to hold the mic and entertain people. As her confidence and love for music grew, so did her talent for writing, mixing and collaborating with other aspiring artists. She has been instrumental in careers of others and has written songs, mixed beats and produced mixed CD’s for a few artists, which was released earlier this year. She has also collaborated with other upcoming artists, while waiting to shine her own unique light on the world.
