Aisling Drury Byrne is one of Ireland's top cellists, notable for her crossover activities in that country's vigorous folk music scene. She received her musical education at the Paris Conservatory, where she won a First Prize in Cello. She is the principal cellist of the National Symphony Orchestra of Ireland and a member of the Dublin Piano Trio. She is also in demand as a session musician in various genres of music, appearing with the Chieftains, the Dubliners, and other popular and Irish music acts, and appears as a concert and recital artist.
