Mona Soul’s experimental approach to music brings an exciting new life to the R&B/Soul/Hip Hop culture while staying true to the traditional values that make it the most progressive and unique genre. Born as Jasmine Mona’ Rorie in Northern Virginia, Mona is a singer, songwriter, and rapper who has continuously worked to hone and expand her skills. In 2021, Mona attended Mickey Shiloh’s “Girl Talk Writing Camp”, where she received three album placements: Collaborating on Stallions and Phil of the Future, including her self-written track, Tsunami. This led to her collaborative success with fellow singer, songwriter, and producer, Gingerr Rust, on “Stallions”, which charted at number 23 on Spotify’s “Fresh Finds: Hip Hop” curated playlist. Some of Mona’s notable achievements have been songwriting alongside prior mentor, Mickey Shiloh, for her own personal projects, as well as projects for Iyla, Rihanna, and Cardi B. After being selected for participation by TDE Derek Ali, she won his "Twitch” Indie Artist competition in 2020. Additionally, Mona appeared on a heavily known Philippine series called “Kumu”, performing on their main stage. These opportunities and achievements have inspired Mona to be more involved in the community, working diligently on collaborative pursuits while continuing to further her personal goals.
