Born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana - a city known worldwide for the conception of Jazz and the early roots of Blues music. Although he's never taken classes or joined the band as a child, he's always had an infatuation with music. Growing up, his father would always play old school music from artists like Ray Charles, Stevie Wonder, Lionel Richie, and many more legendary musicians including Smitty's great uncle - is a well-known musician named Lee Dorsey. As a child in New Orleans, No Limit and Cash Money were a major influence on the city, and in hip hop culture in general. Thus, Lil' Wayne is a major influence in his music, along with artists like Kendrick Lamar and J. Cole. Smitty says, “I believe music is a gift that should be used to share love from different angles and perspectives. I personally hope that I can one day influence a multitude of people for the betterment of the human race. If I can influence more people to live happy and make a living for myself and my family while doing it, that would truly be a dream come true."
