Since the age of seven, Cankat has been a self-taught musician, playing the Middle Eastern instrument Saz (Baglama). Fascinated by Film Music, he has dedicated his career to seamlessly integrating the unique sounds and melodies of the Saz, and later the Lavta (also a Middle Eastern instrument) into modern Film and TV music. His music was featured on National Geographic, Netflix, Prime Video, Peacock, EA Sports, Yes Theory. His track "Lost City of the Sands (published by Warner Chappell) earned a nomination for the Hollywood Music in Media Award (Documentary) in 2022.
