Singer-songwriter Jo Burgess hails from the rolling hills of Devon, England, a landscape that sparked her love affair with music and storytelling. Jo grew up on a farm within a large family where music was always present. From a young age, she taught herself to play various instruments and was soon an integral part of the family folk band. Jo is a multi-instrumentalist, singer, lyricist and composer. Her sound can be described as an eclectic blend of indie pop, folk and acoustic soul, with cascading melodies, personal reckonings and tender yearning. Listeners have described her music as: "a window to the soul, performed with an open passion and powerful lyrics; evocative, seductive- a primal outpouring".
