Amit May Cohen is a Los Angeles based composer and multi-instrumentalist best known for her colorful and eclectic approach to film and TV scoring. Amit’s diverse stylistic range is represented in her hybrid-orchestral comedy scores for the live action Disney Channel films Zombies 2 and Zombies 3 (directed by Paul Hoen), as well as the quirky animated spin-off Zombies: The Re-Animated Series. Other notable projects include her guitar-centric score for the documentary 37 Words (directed by Nichole Newnham and Dawn Porter), her innovative minimalistic score for the Netflix documentary short The Dreamlife of Georgie Stone (directed by Maya Newell), and the indie farcical comedy feature The Country Club, starring actor John Higgins (of Please Don’t Destroy). Originally from Israel, Amit’s debut EP Volatility (2022) showcases her exploration of unique sounds and textures, striking a balance between traditional and modern techniques. Many of her scores have incorporated experimental elements such as bicycle chains, mouth percussion, detuned guitars, and bird sounds.
