Earthgrime is the rapper alter-ego of Abhimanyu Raman. He is one of the pioneers of malayalam rap, along with his then crew mates from Street Academics. He also produces under the alter ego the Age.OF.Edo or the Edo No Jidai, and cites producers like Timbaland, Eskmo, Ragged Skull, Nujabes, and A.R. Rahman as some of his primary influences. His sound varies between conventional hip hop, grime, dubstep, triphop and electrohop. A mix and melange of all these genres was what birthed his 2013 release "Street Lights In The Sun". His follow up release "UnEarthed", follows the same vein. With productions by Yestey, Arcado, Pakarcha Vyadhi, Earthgrime himself, among others, the album takes on the dark undertones of life in general in today's day and age, and sprays it in varying shades of bass. His latest EP, "Hip-hop Valarcha Pt 1 - (A Road to Remember) has tunes featuring Black Komodo, Candyheist, Kadhikan, Syan Saheer with beats produced by Arcado, Yestey and Earthgrime.
