Born in Detroit, MI in 2000, Matthew Spencer has always had a strong passion for music. After hearing Linkin Park's Minutes To Midnight in 2008, Spencer began to write songs on his own. Over time, his writing and singing improved, and in 2017 he formed the band Fire Rising, which released two EPs before breaking up a year later. Towards the end of Fire Rising's life, Spencer began to record his solo music, and released his debut album just days after Fire Rising broke up. He has since continued to produce and release various solo albums. After the release of his 4th album Monster Unleashed in 2020, Spencer was invited to join the band Distant Reverence, which he performed in for about a year before leaving in 2021. To date, Matthew Spencer has released 10 studio albums. His latest release is 2024's Consumed By War.
