The Rice Twins hail from Stockholm, Sweden. The duo formed in 2005 and their tracks soon caught the attention of Michael Mayer and Wolfgang Voigt of Cologne-based Kompakt. In 2006, they made their debut with a split twelve-inch release on Kompakt Extra, alongside The Orb, with the track "For Penny and Alexis". It was followed by three additional twelve-inch releases on Kompakt's sublabel, K2. The Rice Twins have been appearing on Kompakt's Total compilation albums and have had their tracks included on mix albums by prominent DJs such as Michael Mayer, Gui Boratto, and Solomun. They have also made remixes for artists such as Barbara Morgenstern and The Radio Dept.
