Infusing rhythmic, hard-hitting R&B with lo-fi influences & live instrumentation, Samaria uses a visceral approach in her songwriting and delivery, relaying the raw emotion of heartbreak & introspection with her charismatic honeyed vocals. Born & raised in the Bay Area, the 24-year-old artist grew up on a healthy diet of ‘90s and ‘00s R&B/pop including Aaliyah, Destiny’s Child and Justin Timberlake, among others. Samaria’s early interest in music caught the attention of her late grandmother who offered incentives for good grades like piano lessons & Nickelodeon auditions to encourage her granddaughter to pursue a career in the performing arts field. When her grandmother passed away, a 14-year-old Samaria spiraled into depression and eventually stopped showing up to school almost becoming a high school drop out. She took the encouragement to heart and began writing music which evolved into posting originals and a popular Drake remix on her SoundCloud page. Incorporating clever word-play songwriting and a haunting vocal ability, Samaria has proven herself to be the next big break up song maestro.
