HEZARFEN,is a soundnavigator ceaselessly searching for a sound in the vastness of the universe : A sound which whispers into the ears : Attention. Just like a sound awakens itself via the ears. Just like a listener understands himself via the exploration of a sound. “and to the one who knocks the door”, the gateless gate will be opened. Hezarfen was born in the musical quest of Istanbul based musician Yiğit Ataklı. The name is inspired by the same name of dreamer and aviator Hezarfen. It also means “a thousand science” and refers to who achieved to learn them. The name and its meaning significantly emphasizes its musical identity and attitude. It's a solo project for now, dreaming and searching for a sound which rehearses stories within stories. HEZARFEN performs an electro-acoustic live sound and tries to unite charming electronic structures & dance rhythms with acoustic instruments such as ney (anatolian reed flute), handpan, and some other woodwinds. The first single ' Patika' is a piece which combines acoustic field recordings, instruments with shamanic rhythms. 'Patika' strongly defines the musical journey of Hezarfen and producer Yiğit Ataklı. The field recordings has been recorded on the very mystical, ancient road 'Lycian Way' during 150 km-long walking.
