Adam Teixeira was born in Toronto, Canada and began to pursue the drum set and various hand percussions at an early age. Following music throughout secondary school, Adam continued formal studies in Jazz Performance at Humber College. After graduating in 2007 he began to perform regularly in the Toronto music scene and abroad. Adam has participated in the International Jazz Workshop directed by Dave Douglas along with a Self-directed Music Residency at The Banff Centre for the Arts and has been awarded Professional Development Grants from the Ontario Arts Council and Canada Council for the Arts to fulfill advanced study of world rhythms while living in Paris, France. These experiences continue to enriched his voice as a musician/composer and play a significant role in propelling his career. Currently based in London, UK, Adam has performed with the likes of Greg Osby, Tony Malaby, Rudresh Mahanthappa, Pat Labarbera, Julian Costello, Vitor Pereira, Ingrid Jensen, Maciek Pysz, Monika Lidke, Yuri Goloubev, BirdWorld, Monsoon, Alex Stuart, Olcay Bayir, Jangeun Bae, and more.
