Singer/Songwriter Suavé Swaso was born Elton Jonah Swaso in Belize & raised by the West side of Chicago . Born from a heavy musical background with his late father playing 5 instruments for 3 different bands ; his early influences included reggae, dancehall, and punta music that he gained from his culture. In his youth the Chicago artist was amazed at the work of classic rock acts such as Rage Against The Machine and The 1975 which shows in his rock influenced vocals . As he grew up in Chicago he grew an interest for fashion and lavish raps like those of A$AP Rocky but could still respect the lyricism of an artist such as Joey Bada$$. One of the young artists biggest influences that motivated him to never want to be trapped in a box is Donald Glover , which he resonated heavily with and sparked his interest in music . As a young adult Elton saw his love for music grow to an unimaginable level when he discovered The Weeknd , which made him dig deeper into similar R&B acts such as Roy Woods and PARTYNEXTDOOR. Then insert XXXTENTACION and it showed Elton that the effects of music can touch people of different backgrounds all over the world and help them get through their darkest times which he states is his main motive when making music. Given the nickname Suavé in high school ; Elton decided he wanted to blur the lines between R&B / Pop / Alternative and Rap and as he says “Make the soundtrack to peoples lives”.
