Beyond the Lake creates ethereal, dreamlike sound scapes to soothe the soul. Utilising Electric Cello and Guitars with various effects and live looping, they produce sonically blissful and textural music. Nick and Anita's collaboration blossomed during Melbourne's 2020 Covid lockdowns, leading to the creation of "Music for Sleep," a series of improvisations aimed at providing solace during the pandemic. Through over 50 live streams on YouTube and Facebook, resulting in the release of two live albums "Music for Sleep Volumes 1 and 2," and a debut studio produced album, 'Coming Home', they have touched the lives of many. Thanks to a recent Creative Victoria 'Music Works' grant, Nick and Anita were able to embark on their next project. Collaborating with an astoundingly creative and diverse group of musicians, including Hiatus Kaiyote members, drummer David Jones, and the inventor of the AirSticks, Alon Ilsar, they aimed to create a profoundly personal and intuitive album. This upcoming release, titled "Transience," is scheduled for July 2023.
