Thicc from an early age, and gentle in nature, conventional social ladders proved challenging for a young Matthew Rieger. Homeschooled in the Pacific Northwest, he was nestled in the church and given nothing but praise. After several debatably successful stints in music academia, he followed the only woman he ever loved to San Francisco. It was there that he would lose her, but find a love for songwriting. Drawing inspiration from Jeff Buckley, Paul Simon, and The Barr Brothers, he finds peace in the melancholy. His debut half-length record I'm Doin Well reminds us to be comfortable with imperfection. Recorded primarily by himself, the EP is built on the influence of remarkable friends, heroes, and his bandmates in The Lil Smokies. I'm Doin Well is a candid look at the spirit of Matthew Rieger.
