From his musical journey to his life course, everything in the destiny of Gui Wallet aka Guillaume Mallet refers to travel, not to say adventure. These words are not overused for this young man originally from the picturesque port of La Ciotat, France who grew up between Provence and the Polynesian atoll of Bora Bora via the Australia and the Caribbean island of Saint-Martin. Over there, he lived some of the best moments of his DJ career along with his brother Florian; the excellent duo has toured as The Wallet Brothers. Eager for discovery, open seas and scuba diving since his earliest childhood, Gui has thrived defying the waves and the wind, on surfboards or sailboats. His passion for music emerged a little later, but almost naturally took root in him. Broadening his mind, travels have always enriched its cultural background and musical palette. All this can be felt in Gui’s harmonious sets, which may also be described as eclectic, captivating and surprising. Often considered minimalist, his DJ performances gladly navigate from one style to another, from Techno to Minimal, including Tech-House and Deep-House. His groovy and melodic bass lines play the role of a red wire, drawing a journey without borders. Today, Gui is working on new creative projects, which should lead to several releases in 2022. Now based in Montreal, this global citizen intends to conquer the most beautiful Canadian stages, without ever forgetting the multiple roots nourishing his life and his work.
