Sam Neider is a multi-genre, American recording artist, vocalist, and featured songwriter. As a singer her voice delivers a depth of soul that truly defies her size. As a writer and artist, she is dedicated to creating art that explores the duality of being human. You’ll hear themes of empowerment, overcoming struggle, and hope, or as she puts it, “the struggle, the fight, and the win. Grit and resilience.” Her music finds itself somewhere in between the guttural grunginess of an early ’90s Seattle warehouse show oozing rock and dark pop, sprinkled with hints of electronic dance music, a crunchy twang of southern guitars, and melodic toplines that you’ll want to sing at the top of your lungs. Born and raised in the DMV, she moved across the country to finish her Bachelor’s in Media Studies at UC Berkeley. After moving to SoCal in 2011, she started writing and playing out with Dane Drewis, in their duo Sam & Dane. In 2016, she, Alexander Kemp, and Aaron Miller, formed their band, ESX. ESX, released an EP in 2017 “All We Got Now Aint No Thing Now.” In April 2020, she got in the studio with her producer, writing partner, and music director, Adam O’Rourke to record her first set of solo records. Her approach to art is explosive, explorative, vibrant, and always of light.
