The DFW area (Arlington, TX to be specific) is a rather unlikely place to find the next up and coming artist. Not too many have come out of the area to make it in the music industry. That is until now. 28 year-old recording artist Christian is breaking the mold and making a name for himself, winning over one fan at a time. He started writing poetry at 14 and shortly after performing spoken word at venues from all across the city. From the now defunct Mochalux Coffee, to the local church, this young man showed promise and demonstrated prowess that not too many his age would possess. With a new found goal in mind of developing into a fully-fledged artist, he started listening to his influences more often but not just for enjoyment as he did in the past at leisure, but now for inspiration. Artists such as Lupe Fiasco, Lecrae and Big K.R.I.T just to name a few. After spending quite some time preparing himself, he would finally get a chance to make his own song with a track Tailor made just for him. This song later became what we know today as the '90's esque R&B/Hip Hop hybrid ballad "I Can't Sleep." The song that followed was "More than meets the eye" which explains the juxtaposition that men of color oftentimes find themselves in unjustly when wanting people to get to know them for who they truly are, as opposed to being typecasted time and time again.
