Born Darren Maurice Sails Jr., was born in New Orleans raised on the West Bank in a city called Marrero, he graduated from high school but never felt going to college was something he wanted to spend his valuable time attending. He found music was the best way to express himself, and after going by the rap name Mr. Materialistic at age 16, he began writing rhymes and created a group by the name of fly celebs he also created a full length album with his close friend since birth Seux. Combining a strong work ethic with aggressive self-promotion, eventually decided to go solo and finally decided to stay original and go by D.Sails. After relocating in Houston Texas he gained more exposure and ended up getting the attention of his 18 year veteran in hip-hop lil fate who happen to be co-founder of world wide recording label DTP.
