From Toms River, New Jersey, theunknownlyt launched his career in 2014 with a string of online releases, touching on topics all from depression and anger issues to sex and memes. In 2017 he refined his hardcore SoundCloud style and infused it with elements of hyperpop, lo-fi, pluggnb and more. Since then, Lyt has collaborated with his cousin redlotus and, released standout songs such as i wonder if crips watch clifford in 2019 and Yao Ming in 2022, followed by his first commercial project, whereislyt?, an EP which reinforces his creativity and sets the tone for his erratic and raw approach to rap.
