Conor Nickerson is an American-born songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, filmmaker, and photographer based in Montreal, Quebec. In 2020, along with friend and collaborator Antoine Gallois of Frais Dispo, Conor co-created Greenplant, their debut eponymous album of instrumental plant-inspired music. Three years after Greenplant’s release, Conor released morning in the park under the Greenplant moniker, a twenty-track album written and recorded by Conor in Montreal’s Maisonneuve Park and at his apartment, with a tracklist which doubles as a poem of the same name. In early 2024, Conor released The Small Hours, a first release under his own name. The EP's four tracks were inspired by literary and film works, including the writing of Dorothy Parker, Emily Dickinson, André Breton, and Philippe Soupault, as well as Yasujirō Ozu’s 1953 film, Tokyo Story. Most recently, Conor released Aves, an album of instrumental music inspired by seven birds of his home state of Massachusetts. Conor creates all of his own visual content, including photography, album art, and music videos. He has also written soundtracks for his own film projects and has composed for other filmmakers. Beyond music, Conor’s photographic work has garnered international attention, and his work in cinema has appeared on the silver screen across North America, including his film “OBSESSIF” which was an official selection of the 2023 edition of the Festival Émergence de Montréal.
