Smooth cruise sung raps along with pristine sounding melodics drenched in deep 808s best describes the style of R&B/rap artist from the Boréal region of Québec. CJAY GRiZ made a name for himself in the Cree Nation by featuring and producing on up and coming Indigenous artists’ tracks at the beginning of 2020. The multi-hyphenate has topped charts and won awards for his productions in 2023. He’s currently producing for artists such as Melody McArthur, Violent Ground, Claire Sully, KONG and Hyper-T. He’s also released collaborative projects such as 2021’s Indian Time EP with Witset artist, EarthChild, and 2023’s ‘Come Thru’ from Mattmac’s all star featured album ‘All Eyes On Us’. His solo produced project ‘B4 The Wavelength’ is slated to release on September 20, 2024. CJAY GRiZ describes this project as influenced by artists such as Kanye West, NAV, The Weeknd and Travis Scott, but also adding elements from Boom Bap on other tracks. The new album will have features by Indigenous artists around Turtle Island.
