Derek Osinski, aka deee-nice, grew up in the small town of Long Pond, PA where he learned to play the guitar at a young age. He wrote many acoustic songs throughout his tenure at high school as well as performed in various theatre productions, but it was his favorite genre R&B that brought him into the world of Hip-Hop. He attempted a few original songs with a notable 90s flair, one of which entitled “Love Bein’ In Love”, caught the attention of his peers as a catchy track. However, he left Music alone for awhile to pursue other passions that he always had. In the Fall of 2017, Derek dropped out of Millersville University and moved to Aurora, CO to enroll in the Colorado Film School. There he studied the cinematic arts and the inner intricacies of writing for the screen. Yet, only halfway through, Music tore him back under the stage name we know today - deee-nice. “Scratch the Itch (SummaJam)” saw the full realization of the funky, playful artist that still resonates amongst longtime fans. It spawned the 2020 EP, “The Set Up” which showcased a broader artistic range that allowed for a new sound sonically in his next single to come. “Follow Your Dreams” is the moment Derek solidified himself as a genuine artist. He departed from the cheeky rhymes such as in “Morning Sex” and instead spit poetry while crooning over the R&B hook. This lead to the 2022 EP, “Midnight Moodswing”. He is currently working on the follow up album, “Pinegum” slated for Summer 2023.
