Fabio Mina plays alto flute, synths and electronics. He's mostly an improviser who has collaborated with Markus Stockhausen, Vinicio Capossela and lots of world and contemporary musicians. His music transcends genres easily embracing folk, electronic, wold music, ambient, trip hop, post-rock and world music. His hyper-performative approach to the flute is grounded in a deep knowledge of the instrument, combined with a sonic research that has led him over the years to explore its acoustic possibilities and timbral expansion through the use of pedals, microphone techniques, synthesizers, and samplers to offer a fresh image of the flute, far from clichés and formalism. Existence / Resistance is the title of Mina's new album produced by Manuel Volpe (Massimo Silverio, Rhabdomantic Orchestra) and released by Okum Produzioni, Torino.
