In July of 2022, Nation Business Music Producer Luci (Guillermo Enrique Luciano Soto) traveled to Seattle, Washington to meet up with Electronic Dance Music DJ Post-modern Phantom (Benjamin Ernst Herrera) with the goal of creating a full-length album that would encapsulate the influences of their artistic abilities and taste in music under their brand Luci & Her Ghost. After leaving Seattle to head back to his hometown of Jacksonville, Florida, Luci used the talents from the record label he worked at to help complete the album. Artists such as Curtis Williams of critically-acclaimed Atlanta rap group Two-9, Krishna Rao of Jacksonville band The Segovias, EASYin2D, and Vxrgo helped fill the gaps and give the finishing touches the album needed. The result would come to completion in October later that year and come to be known as The Sound. From the use of jazz, hip hop, and even jungle/ dance music, the genre-bending project manipulates these sounds to come together as a whole. When asked about what The Sound meant to the Seattle-based duo, they said, "Seattle was a fresh source of inspiration. Being on the Puget Sound and being able to reflect on its beauty sparked a sense of awe and wonder for us.
