Pastense has created one of the first great post-pandemic era albums in underground hip-hop in “Sidewalk Chalk, Parade Day Rain”. The isolation of the pandemic caused breaks and fissures in everyone’s life and times and Pastense was no different. The emerging art contained in Pastense’s work provides the redemption from that dark age that he needed. Pastense’s father, John Tracey, provided original artwork to the cover and throughout the CD layout. Pastense describes his dad, a lifelong visual artist, as “the kind of person that will pull over the car just to look at an interesting stone”, this album speaks to the full circle journey of Pastense becoming that kind of person himself.
