Lisa is a concert pianist, Juilliard graduate, and canine music expert. By combining her passion for music with her love of dogs, she co-founded "Through a Dog’s Ear" in 2003 with sound researcher/producer, Joshua Leeds. Through a Dog's Ear is a rotating musical ensemble dedicated to science-based auditory solutions for animal companions and the people who love them. As a concert pianist, Lisa's won first prizes in New York and Los Angeles Chopin competitions. She has performed in China, Poland, Spain, France, Italy and throughout the USA. Spector created the Through a Dog’s Ear “Music in Shelters” program, a project inspired by her volunteer work in shelters. Her piano playing on the original Through a Dog’s/Cat’s Ear recordings are currently played in 2,000+ shelters and rescues worldwide, where it is helping increase adoption rates. Lisa is the featured pianist on the two long-playing streaming albums: iCalmDog/Calm Your Canine and iCalmCat/Calm Your Kitty.
