El Keter is a nonbinary entity residing in Springfield, Massachusetts, where they produce beats, mostly Hip-Hop of the Lofi, Boom-Bap, and True-School varieties. They began producing in the mid-1990s and have worked with Springfield, Massachusetts' J-Son as the duo No Ordinary Repetitive Mentality, Hartford, Connecticut's Abiss and her Blazed Up stable of artists, Fort Wayne, Indiana's Sankofa, New Jersey-based rap crooner and viral sensation Charles Only, and a handful of others. A near lifelong DJ and record collector, they hosted two weekly programs—Urban Alternatives and Dusty Grooves—on regional radio for close to a decade, founded the Imageyenation weblog and both the Undertones and Clandestine Transmission podcast series, contributed to Beautiful/Decay magazine, and wrote the daily Blogarhythms music column for the Okayplayer website.
