Jean-Christophe Cholet is one of the most unusual French personalities in the field of improvised music. Qualified at the Schola Cantorum in 1985 in piano, harmony, descant and fugue. Besides his solid classical training he also practices jazz and has been composing from a very young age. Having trained with Kenny Barron, Richie Beirach, Bill Dobbins and even Lee Konitz, he takes part in projects with jazz greats Charlie Mariano, Matthias Rüegg, Matthieu Michel... Eager to share the music he likes with a great number of people, owner of CA du Jazz (certificate for teaching Jazz), he is also a valuable teacher to amateur musicians both in explaining his music and in introducing them to improvisation (Master-classes in Marciac, Wien, Luzern, Lugano...) His discography counts more than 30 albums, most of them as a leader. (c) Jean Ber
