One of the most influential and creative artists of the new era, Sam-C went from local phenomenon to widely renowned expressive visionary. CEO and founder of Back Row Records, rapper, producer, and entrepreneur Sam-C made waves releasing cult classics since the late 2000’s. Born and raised in the rough inner city of Baltimore Maryland, Sam-C was raised by his mother until she died due to breast cancer while he was at the age of 13. His father also died of drug overdose, leaving Sam to live in local group homes. Sam-C was always a visual artist and painter, winning art contests and gallery showcases was second nature. After the passing of his parents Sam’s art and self-expression changed focus, from visual art to poetry and sound production. Sam-C participated in countless project’s, singles, and freestyles that gained local adoration from 2007-2014. Gaining popularity and a social media following, various singles started to pick up steam. Sam-C finally had everything in place, including a debut project, Day’s In July (2017). Though Day’s In July reached only smaller markets, Sam-C’s debut eventually became recognized as an undisputed cult classic among fans, paving the way for strong interest in future projects. The series continued with August Rush (2018) introducing the audio & visual Rush a self-animated music video. The film showed Sam-C’s unique artistic sense that set him apart from many of his rap peers.
