Matt98 began making music as a joke at the age of 13. He made his first song for an 8th grade science class, which he made with people in said class. They named themselves The Nucleiguys, and the song's name was Animal Cell Organelles. In February 2021, Matt98 began writing his own music. On February 20th, 2021, he wrote his first song titled Crippling Depression after the death of his grandmother. He later went on to write more and more. On May 19th, 2021, he began recording these songs and uploading them onto Instagram. At the time, he was very budgeted and only had a tablet. He would record songs as videos and edit beats over them. He began as a rapper but learned his true passion is heavy metal & rock, and he tries to fuse the genres together. He's worked with many big artists. He has songs with Rick Ross, Sean Kingston, Krizz Kaliko, Dizzy Wright, Swifty McVay (D12), Young Buck (G-Unit), Jarren Benton, as well as many more. In February of 2022, he created a record label, Droit98 Records, that later merged with Railsback Records (by JRMMUSIC). Together, they sign artists and help them to improve and get bigger. Matt98 has released many albums, including rap LPs like Devil's Advocate and rock LPs like Before The Fire. In August 2023, he tore his vocal cords with incorrect screaming techniques, putting him on a hiatus, hoping that he'd return. On June 8, 2024, those hopes became true with his first single post-recovery titled More To Life.
