Cena de Negros has a unique and intriguing history. After dominating underground pubs and stages across Mexico City and the countryside throughout the 1990s, the band took an unexpected hiatus—a break that would last an incredible 16 years. In 1998, Cena de Negros was hailed as one of the most promising bands in the Mexican rock scene. Under their original name, Raza de Bronze, they participated in Rockotitlán’s renowned Battle of the Bands and released their debut album, Intraveneno, recorded at La Loca Records. Despite their success, the departure of key members from Mexico City left many projects incomplete, and the band faded from the spotlight. Fast forward to 2016: founding members Zovek Sins and Julio Garza, both now based in León, Mexico, reignited the band’s flame. With a revitalized lineup featuring Alex Dark and Franky Black, the band made a triumphant return to the stage. They simultaneously re-released their iconic debut album Intraveneno (1998) and dropped a brand-new EP, Rezos de Odio Vol. 1: Decadencia (2018). In 2019, the band released Rezos de Odio Vol. 2: Talión, introducing their new, talented, and dynamic guitarist, Franc García. This addition brought fresh energy to the band’s sound, further solidifying their reputation for delivering groundbreaking music. Cena de Negros continues to cement its legacy in the Mexican rock scene with its signature powerful sound and enduring resilience. Cena de Negros, música, pasión, vida y muerte!
