For over a decade, JB Nimble has been pumping out his own brand of honest, self-aware hip-hop. Bringing vulnerability, humor, and social consciousness to his complex rhyme-schemes, he has continued to progress and reinvent his style with each project he’s released. Since 2009, JB has released six solo projects, four collaborative albums, and spent years touring around the US playing for audiences. He released two albums with his group, CandleSpit Collective, in 2010 and 2011. His first full-length solo album, The Jester’s Dance was a tribute to his childhood love of underground hip hop. After this, he put out two more collaborative projects, The Waiting Room with OneWerd, and Nowstalgia with CTZN. JB’s sophomore solo album, Moondog Orchestra was a fully self-produced, often dreamy project, created in a time of transition for the artist. Then, with the release of Bunny with longtime collaborator Deacon LF, JB showcased a more experimental edge, doing away with some of his formulaic song structures. After a brief hiatus from music-making, he joined Deacon LF once more for the upcoming album, The Rabbit Died, a time capsule of JB’s life during the pandemic. Now based in Brooklyn, NY, he spends his time working on music, raising his kids, and writing this bio in the third person. Love y’all!
