Ola Szmidt - self-published composer known for transforming her voice into a unique instrument and pushing the boundaries of minimal composition. Her track "Better Future" was featured in Amazon Prime’s Goliath (starring Billy Bob Thornton) and HBO’s True Detective Season 4: The Base 10. These high-profile placements have expanded her reach and introduced her music to a broader audience. For over ten years, Ola Szmidt has pioneered a signature sound that blends vocal improvisation and electronic looping techniques. Her artistry earned her a mentorship with renowned producer Four Tet through the Steve Reid Foundation in 2016, further elevating her creative journey. In 2022, Ola signed with Matthew Herbert's Accidental Records for her the release of EP3. In addition to her studio work, Ola has made her mark in live performance. Most notably, she debuted as a DJ and delivered a live set at the iconic Turbine Hall in Tate Modern. She has also performed alongside artists such as Oscar-winning composer Hildur Gudnodottir, Antipop Consortium, Maja Ratkje and Salamanda.
