Hailing from the streets of Gary, Indiana... King Nov started his craft of rapping as a hobby. He wrote songs, poems and raps in a notebook. This evolved into him practicing and honing his skills by freestyling verses with some of the kids around the neighborhood under the alias Prince Nov for short. King Nov and some other great artists from the city, joined forces and created Y.H.B., Young Hood Boys, in 2005. King Nov began to seriously consider rapping in 2006 and in August of 2007, he recorded his first professional song with X.O. InTheKitchen. During middle school, King Nov was introduced to the drums. King Nov learned to read music and play the drums by joining his middle school band. He continued playing the drums into high school where he played football as well. During his senior year, King Nov opted to chase the fast life, leading him to skip school and miss out on his credits as well as his anticipated graduation date of June 2008. Not one to give up, he went back and continued on to earn his diploma from Roosevelt High School in 2009. Post high school, King Nov had numerous letters and offers to attend college to play football however, he had other plans and wanted to pursue his career in the music industry. King Nov has performed in shows in different cities as well as opened for artists such as Lonipop Chicago and Chinese Kitty from Love and Hip Hop Miami. King Nov continues to work on his craft, tell his story and create music influenced by his experiences.
