“OCEANS could easily be the next big thing!” (blabbermouth) The sails are set since 2018, when Oceans start to blend Modern Death Metal with 90’s Nu-Metal and Post-Rock, creating a dismal journey into the abyss. The German quartet aims to end mental health stigma with music that “grips you right where it hurts most” (Vampster). Despite never having played one single show, they sign with NUCLEAR BLAST in 2019 and release their EP 'Into the Void', followed by the highly acclaimed debut album 'The Sun and the Cold' in 2020, lauded as”one of the most promising and polarizing heavy metal debuts you will hear anytime soon” (Outburn). Their 2021 follow up EP 'WE ARE NØT OKAY' features guests like Lena from Infected Rain, Andy from Caliban, and the legendary Robb Flynn from Machine Head. Blabbermouth calls it a “scorcher”, and they prove it again in 2022 with the mysterious EP series 'Hell Is Where The Heart Is,' setting the stage for their second album by the same name. After the release Metal Digest predicts OCEANS to be “one of the biggest bands on the planet.” In 2024, OCEANS surprise with the release of a double single consisting of the two songs “SLAVES TO THE FEED” and “BREED CONSUME DIE”, which feature Australian artists Misstiq and Josh Collard from Earth Caller. Might this be the start of WE ARE NØT OKAY part two? Only the future will tell. But one thing is certain: “Oceans are and will always be exceptional” (Time for Metal).
