From the Bay Area underground, a monster was born. What could easily be called the United States ‘Mecca’ of Bass Music at the time, My Pet Monster bared witness to the early soundscapes that painted the walls of dimly lit warehouses and nightclubs with their raw and gritty forms throughout the West Coast in the late 2000s. He had a frontrow seat to witness pioneers of the genre; who laid the foundation for not only his knowledge but also his understanding of the craftsmanship involved. Through this baptism arose an artist driven by passion not only to create immersive music and performances but also a commitment to constant experimentation and artistic growth. Over the years, My Pet Monster has crossed multiple genres, putting his new school spin on many classic eras of American music such as jazz, blues, swing, funk, hip hop, and soul. After returning from a recent hiatus, he has since reconnected with his roots to create and perform darker, more provocative Experimental Bass music. What has rang true throughout all of his creations is to expect the unexpected.
