Roger Ortega's record sales, performances and songwriting credits opened the door for him to be a registered voting member of The Recording Academy. As a recently accepted member, amongst other things, he can officially vote for The Grammys. Avoiding the notorious "sophomore slump", RO's 2016 release of 'The Lottery' stormed the iTunes R&B/Soul charts up to #8! Charting on iTunes is familiar territory for RO. His debut album 'RnBPoPWrytr', released in April 2012, reached #62 on the very same charts. He has garnered terrestrial radio play and several of his songs have been put into rotation on the Pandora music site. He's performed with acts from Aaron Carter to O-Town and Color Me Badd to Jay-Z all while steadily building his fan base. 'The Lottery' was mixed and mastered by Grammy nominated engineer Mikaelin 'Blue' Bluespruce who's lent his talents to Akon, Solange Knowles, Prince Royce, Ghostface Killah & Ruben Studdard to name a few. June 2018 Roger Ortega released his single WOO YEA ftTrevon Payne followed by the Music Video in July which featured his home town of Topeka, KS. Midwest Charm is RO’s 3rd album and has just been released. It’s been received very well by his fans and is critically acclaimed as his best album yet by peers in the music industry.
