Biography

South Carolinian rapper and DVLN International leader Shack Deville delivers an interesting perspective of the life and times of a young black male in the city of Charleston. Presenting those thoughts with a smooth, soulful delivery cloaked in witty wordplay and vivid imagery, he dives into into conversations revolving around social commentary, the innocence of youth, wrath, love, and the ambition of wanting more from this life. The self awareness and honesty of his personal testimony creates a sense of gravity and transparency around Shack’s artistic persona. Born Jairon Harrison in Charlotte, North Carolina, he grew up in a musical household that engulfed him in hip hop, rhythm and blues, jazz, gospel, and the golden oldies. Influenced by emcees such as DMX, Scarface, Nas, Guru, Master P, Z-Ro, and Trae Tha Truth, Shack picked up the microphone debuting in 2010 during his senior campaign of high school. With the help of a close friend, they released a 4-track EP. In 2013, he released a mixtape in college, which garnered a lot of attention on campus for the budding lyricist. In 2014, while under football scholarship at the illustrious South Carolina State University, he suffered a career ending injury that forced him away from the gridiron, and into the studio. In 2015 he released two EPs, “The Layover” and “NuLife.” In 2020 he completed his “Smoke in the City” album trilogy, and started off 2021 with his opus, “Duality.” The music leaves everyone asking, “what’s next?”
