Biography

The Mystix, a Boston-based band, has been a key player in the music scene for nearly 25 years. Founded by Bobby Keyes and Jo Lily, the band has evolved through various lineups, with Bobby on guitar and Jo on vocals and guitar as the core. Jo, formerly of Duke and The Drivers, spent years performing in the South, while Bobby was deeply involved in the Los Angeles recording scene, collaborating with and mentoring artists like Ben E. King and Martha Reeves. When they joined forces, their combined experience and talent attracted some of the finest musicians from Boston and beyond. The Mystix quickly gained a reputation for versatility, performing in major venues on the Seacoast and often selling out shows. Their music spans R&B, country, blues, and more, with much of it written by Jo and Bobby. This genre-blending approach has become their hallmark. Driven by a deep love for music and a dedication to their craft, The Mystix have recorded eight albums, with a new release planned to celebrate their 25-year milestone. Their legacy is built on passion, creativity, and collaboration, making them a true musician’s band.
