Follow my new artist page EBN Eben Jr. aka Super Mario (now EBN), was one of the first artists to introduce afrobeat in Norwegian to the Norwegian music scene. With his genuine experience and background, Eben Jr. was a distinctive and fresh breath to Norwegian music. On 28 May 2021, he released the thematically contemporary EP Barcelona where he adresses topics such as everyday racism, prejudice and the demanding role as a father figure. The Kastel-produced EP also includes the already released song Fri Som Deg, a song with a message that is as relevant today as when it was first released in 2018 in the middle of the refugee crisis, where he reflects on his own experiences as a refugee. There is also a lot of love on the EP - represented in, among other, the title track Barcelona. Although the soundscape of many of the songs by Eben Jr. is characterized by happy and danceable rhythms, there is often a more serious message underneath. Eben Jr. has flourished in several collaborations with, among others, Admiral P, Nico D, OnklP, Snow Boyz and performed on the VG Lista tour. Later, his songs such as Mamma featuring Arif, and Fri Som Deg, put more focus on important themes and some of the challenges Eben Jr. have encountered so far in his life. From 2022 Eben Jr. changed his stage name to EBN, pronouced «Eben». Signifying his growth both creatively and as a matured human being. Contact: augustin@norfeast.no
