Tcrook$, a native of Newport News, VA (Uptown), like most artist with a real passion for music, took a knack for being a wordsmith at an early age. Influenced by a prominent rap group branching out of his hometown at the time, Thug Relation, he became inspired to rap by the things of his environment invoked in their music. Crook$ started his serious career in a group, apart of Flossy Crooks, and then officially released his debut solo body, “Blickem Boys Entertainment,”— the first installment to a 2-part series, in 2013. The sound behind the projects embodied the emotion of a rapper from the “streets”. The method of storytelling for a young emcee from Newport News, Virginia was hardcore and gritty.
