Mike Herting is a composer, pianist, arranger and conductor. For many years he has been dealing with the connection between jazz and Indian as well as African music. He led the WDR Big Band in various programs, was musical director of the first season of DSDS, curator of the Ruhr Triennale 2007, led the WDR Radio Orchestra and the big bands of NDR and HR. He worked with the London Philharmonic Orchestra and conducted two major tours of India and West Africa with the Federal Jazz Orchestra. He also created numerous scores for films and radio plays. In 2015 he created the large orchestral work „Sai Symphony“, which has been performed in India, China and Europe. In 2020 the piano solo album "Breathing In Breathing Out" was released.
