Hailing from Dickson, TN, Mic. Carr aka Penzel Washington is an “eclectic and well respected” artist whose sound overflows with soul and substance. Carr uses his past and present experiences to paint a picture of hope for both the optimists and those who feel hopeless. Beginning his personal writing at age 10, Mic. initially just composed poems – it wasn’t until high school that he began to convert those poems into songs. Upon attending Christian Brothers University as a student-athlete, Mic. started taking music more seriously during his downtime and began realizing his reach could extend far beyond just the realm of sports. After two years at CBU, he transferred to Middle Tennessee State University where he would further hone in on his craft and help form the collective MNDxBDYxSL. During Summer 2018, Mic. and a few fellow local artists curated a 6-state tour named "The Summer Nights Tour" - a feat that was executed with no major labels or sponsorships. Over the span of 3 weeks, the group traveled to NYC, CHI, ATL, SC, NC, and back home to TN. From 2015 to present day, Mic. has consistently released a full body of work every year. He plans to continue that streak with his latest EP Porch Light, which is set to drop on 10/7/22.
